Premix alone isn't enough in a street engine that sees mostly low rpm driving.
Lubrication aside the localized injections helps preventing seal chatter.

Also the TII is running a completely different setup.

Single oil injector, P ports, etc. Its pretty much a completely different engine.

For some reason amp; is being added to the URL. If you remove that towards the end it will work.

Teaser Update :

Work continued on the 'Project 500' RX8 today with the new fuel system upgrades being carried out.

New 2000cc injectors have been fitted to suit E85 along side a Turbosmart FPR2000 fuel pressure reg and micron filter; all plumbed up with our Pac Performance alloy fittings and braided line.

Jason is just sorting out the fuel pump upgrade at the moment as you can see here; replacing the single OEM pump for 3 new high pressure, high volume items which will be housed in a new, custom cradle we will be fabricating for the job.

Stay tuned for a full update on the website real soon."

The Pac Performance 'Project 500' RX8 continues to develop as we move forward onto the oil and fuel side of things as well as finishing up the cooling system.

The rebuilt and strengthened RX8 Renesis block we showed you in the last update has now been installed and the Pac Performance four inch intercooler, now powdercoated and looking pretty has been mounted up permanently along with custom fabricated air dams to direct the flow of air through the cores.

To keep the auto transmission happy a large oil cooler has been mounted at the front of the car with the core sitting right behind the driver’s side air intake in the new Mazdaspeed front bar allowing it to receive ample air flow.

Work also started on the RX8s new fuel system which will see the car fitted out with 2000cc injectors, a Turbosmart FPR2000 fuel pressure regulator as well as a secondary fuel tank in the boot, fitted up with three in-tank high pressure pumps. Why a second fuel tank you may ask…Well think of it as a kind of surge tank.

The cars original in-tank fuel pump, along with the lines and fittings are all upgraded to suit E85, this then pumps the fuel into the custom Pac Performance secondary tank which houses the three main pumps.

While it will take up a small amount of your boot space it is a necessity to be able to cope with the increased fuel demand when using E85, however if you decide to run the car on PULP only this will negate the need for the secondary tank as the OEM fuel pump will simply be replaced with a suitable upgrade, mounted in the factory in-tank cradle.

The new fuel system and trans cooler has been plumbed up with Pac Performance alloy fittings and braided lines throughout. OEM fuel rails have been retro-fitted with dash fittings and quality serviceable filters used; all E85 friendly.

Work on the exhaust for ‘Project 500’ RX8 has now been completed with a custom three inch system with high-flow stainless catalytic converter now joining the custom dump pipe with the stainless rear muffler section. This system will give the car that nice rotor roar without being too intrusive

Back under the bonnet the factory failure-prone coils have been replaced with high output LS1 items; providing ample spark for aspirated and boosted applications.

As you can see in this photo, part of the beauty of the Pac Performance ‘Stage4’ RX8 upgrade is that even with the engine covers off, the turbo is pretty much hidden out of site…

With the turbo being mounted so low an external oil scavenge pump has been fitted, plumbed into the turbos oil return.

Once the last few bits and pieces are finished the new Mazdaspeed bar will be getting fitted up properly. This will include more ducting, some mesh work and a shield for the bottom of the intercooler.

Interesting they are doing this build with an auto. Any mention if they are going with the stock tranny or something custom?

LOL that exhaust looks terrible.

This build is starting to turn into a comedic performance.

Love the intercooler set up.

If it the stock auto then it will fail as it cannot handle the extra power. That is one of the reasons why Mazda did not use the 6 port on the auto.

Pretty sure only the early autos were 4port 4AT. Later model's came with a 6port 6AT.

Also its well known that the LS1 coils do not withstand the heat. The D585 coils are far superior in every aspect.

It would intresting to know why they are using an AT for this build. Sure you can build up the engine all you want. But if you can't get the power to the ground, bfd.

Unless they swapped out the TQ and upped the line pressure, that AT will slip.

Dude, you don't need an engine mount. They're overrated.

Maybe the owner does not like stick.

I do recall Tofubox had a lot of issues with his auto in his supercharged car. If it has not been upgraded they it may only last one dyno run

LOL I didn't even notice the sump.

Now I just feel bad for them.

I have learned a whole hell of a lot over the years with all of my builds and other builds I've seen. There's just certain things that will not work with this car, regardless of the prior rotary experience you have. I've seen plenty of FD and FC builders who give horrible advice and incorrect facts about the 8 and the renesis.

Bottom line, there's only so much you can do before you blow this engine up.
