Does anybody know where to get a replacement Greddy Airinx Filter? The one that came with the kit is now dirty, and i just need to replace the foam as can be seen here...

Why don't you just wash it and let it dry. There is no oil on the filter - it is easy to clean. I have cleaned mine 3-4 times in the last 2 years.

we sell the cold air intake for the Greddy that has a new filter...new filter and cooler air....that would look so hot on your ride

K&N has a host of conical filters in different sizes...While I'll reserve my judgement about K&N, I think anything is better than the airnix

I have my own home made engineering plans that should help me divert cold air to the intake - i'll post it up when im done.

the chances of this working are slim to none... but im gonna try it anyway.

foam filters are teh suxorz, highly recommend replacing the filter end with an AEM DryFlow filter is they have something that will fit

Hmm... those prices aren't bad at all for the AEM replacement. I'll measure my opening on the greddy intake and see how much it'll be.

I went ahead and ordered a replacment airinx filter today, since its cheaper and saving moola is key this time of year... but i'll look into replacing it with AEM sometime next year.

I had a K&N on there before. it's $40 for the filter.



I then installed this sucker:



but it was so huge I had to remove the rebar in the front bumper to get it to fit.




This is what I have right now:



Works really well, air temp is the same as ambient. When I am sitting at idle, the air does start to warm up a few degrees, but immediately drops back soon as the car moves. Cost me about $70 to make, including the K&N oval shaped filter. Best of all, no 90 degree bend in the pipe like the previous one I made...

I decided I want to make a metal plate to block the radiator fan air..... it seemed okay for a while, but it's blowing a bit too much dirt into the engine bay for my liking.

The mazsport CAI is a nice drop in replacement if you don't want the hassle of making one. Plus you can get it ceramic coated

How do you clean the AEM intake or is it also one that you just replace when dirty?

I haven't had to clean mine yet. I have 9" long one which has a lot of surface area and it doesn't have many miles on it yet. They recommend cleaning it every 10,000 miles on a street car.

There use to be a video on the website that showed the cleaning process, but it appears to have been taken off during some updating changes. They sell a special cleaning solution that you mix with water in a bucket, you dunk the filter in it (not completely though, you want to fill the inside through the pleats, not through the pipe opening to keep dirt from getting on the inside filter surfaces), swirl it around some, rinse it from the inside out with a water hose, then let it air dry. The video was pretty amazing, filter did not look very dirty, but the water/cleaning solution was filthy after they cleaned it.

BTW, this is the same type of filter that comes on the new AEM and MS CAI kits.
