I think there's some room for improvement, better turbine entrance angle would help, use of an external wastegate, also from what I've read a wastegate preferred manifold design is better.

Sure - but now you are not talking about a Greddy kit ....
Ok so what happens with my build depends on how soon I can sell the Esmeril Kit, but I'm thinking I'm going to go with the GT3071R or maybe even this GT3076R. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...Category_Code= Making the necessary changes I don't see as a big obstacle and I have a daily driver so I can have some down time. |

This skyline housing looks like the greddy turbo housing, ATP said that they can put a gt3071r or 76r in that housing. |
Have you looked at the links I've posted to ATP's site? The housing is not the problem.

You could clock that to work but I'm not sure on the actuator bracket if it would sit right when moved. The oil drain looks like it is on top in that pic as well. Is it water cooled? |
I have looked at the links, this is the same stuff people have been talking about for a while now. The reason I brought up the skyline housing is because the stock greddy turbo is used as a bolt on upgrade for older skylines. If the compressor and turbine housing are the same as the T618Z, then in theory you will only have to worry about the oil feed and wastegate.

I'm guessing if they put a GT30 in that housing it will be water cooled, not sure though. |

obviously you wont be trying to fit a 4" intake down low .....
Check out the drop down box for Compressor housing options - T04E Style 2.75" Inlet 2" Outlet |

I think what ATP is saying is they can fit the same style Turbine housing to the GT3071/76R which is what I've posted in those links with the T25 Inlet Flange and 5 Bolt Outlet.

that skyline turbo would be good for autoX probably would have almost no lag full boost at like 2500-3500 rpms all the way to 8-8500rpms which would be awesome, but its rated at 310hp which is good but I think he's looking for more like 330RWHP or better.
Can any actuator be use on the 3076R, and 4 in. intake piping is no go right? |

I agree with you about the turbine side. I was talking about the compressor housing as well.

Did anyone check out the borg warner series of EFR turbo's?
http://www.motoiq.com/industry_partn...o_systems.aspx also if you look down below to the #11 post there are some pics of the width and length of the turbos the borg warner is thinner but longer. not sure if sny of this is ideal but heres some info: http://www.turbodriven.com/en/perfor...downloads.aspx |

if I was going to do the ultimate Greddy kit upgrade this would be my version
this: http://www.compturbo.com/spotlights/ctb with this: http://www.compturbo.com/spotlights/oil_less and this: http://tialsport.com/prod%20ss%20turbo.html#sgt2528 with some grinding on the manifold, a custom adapter plate (see below) can be permanently bolted or welded on to it for mounting the the turbo assembly on, which the turbo assembly would then be much easier to get on and off to boot https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1328771631 and to top it all off, I would cut a hole in the side of that fancy turbine housing inlet and weld a wastegate flange to it similar to the ATP Turbo housing , except I would locate the position at 45 deg from the the housing exit flange rather than 90 deg like the ATP one. . |

It's such a tight fit, is a tubular Greddy manifold replacement even possible?

who made that?

Interesting, is the coolant being fed to the CHRA from the little nipple at the rear rotor housing on the passenger side? I cut into the heater circuit, But I never thought of just eliminating the coolant going to the TB and using that circuit.

What material did you use? Mild Steel, 321SS, 304SS, a combination? Where did you get the Manifold flange? Racing Beat? I see that they offer one but it's Mild Steel, I'd prefer to use all Stainless. Does anyone know of someone that sells a Stainless Steel Flange? |
