nitrous issue

So I'm having an issue. The shot isn't smooth. From 4.5 - 9 the power is super jerky. It comes in spirts ?!? Is this normal.

maybe my tank is nearing empty? idk? plz help. i dont want to worsen the issue so i wont spray untill i find out whats wrong.

also what is a good way to get clear the lines ones you close your bottle? or is it ok to leave them pressurized? when i close the tank, i flip the switch to on then give it a quick floor and turn the switch off.

Maybe your tank is low ... take it out and weigh it. The weights of the tank empty and full should be stamped on it.

But jerkiness you speak of has only occurred to me when there is air in the lines. So maybe you have a leak or your tank has some air in it, i think this can happen. At least the dude at my performance shop told me it could.

As far as purging the lines after closing the bottle...... a good few seconds in 2nd or 3rd at WOT should take care of most of the remaining nitrous.

I have a nitrous pressure gauge and I always leave about 300-400 psi in the line ....

thanks for the advice

The performance shops around here like it when I completely drain the tank. That is to say not to drain the drank in the car under as spray but to open the bottle and let the remaining nitrous oxide vent.

I have been given an explanation several times but I just can't seem to pay attention to it.

Anyways if you decide to do this, becareful as there will still be a considerable amount of gas in the bottle.

Make sure you are outside and don't hold the bottle between your legs like I did ....lol

There is still enough pressure in there to make the bottle spin and take off.

LOL dude, I damn near shit my pants!

So try to picture this,
I'm out in my backyard (open air)

I'm standing up with the bottle between my feet, bottle valve facing forward same direction I am.

I crank the fucker open and to do this I obviously need to bend over at the hips.

Apparently I didn't have my legs tight enough together and the bottle rockets backwards tipping over. Nitrous blasts me in the face on it way over then rests in a perfect position to directly hit me in the nut sack!

Scared the fuck out of me...... Actually I'm lucky I wasn't hurt ....

Live and learn and I guess

They probley like when u do that so they can get more money from you it doesn't make a difference if you empty it out or not. I had the same talk with the guys at my refill place and that's what they said to me when I asked them the same question. But every place is different.

The fill pump or gravity......
Ray in all the shops I have been in they have only done it by weight ... never pressure

And yes I have had the bottle filled over the recommend 10 lbs ....

wcs 05-09-2010 10:01 AM

I always thought it was strange about emptying the bottle .... bloody con artists ....
So yes ... I understood your point...

About the refiller chill'n the bottles:
I remember the place we went to Ray, had a freezer in the back to chill the bottles......

Not so lucky here ... all 4 of the shops close by do not have a chiller and have asked me to bring the bottle in cold ..... so I place it in the freezer for an hour or so.

And about the gravity feed, sorry I stand corrected..... I guess I meant that I've seen refiller stations without a pump......but this would still be a pressure feed or more accurately a vacuum/displacement

I guess I do Ray:icon_no2:

I remember the first place I went to .... it took soooo long because the pump was getting hot. Yeah I know ....

Nitrous is illegal here in Ontario now so it just gets harder and harder to fill the bottle ...... and at a 110 dollars a fill ..... well need I go on.

Get that turbo kit together would ya ... jesus ..
