making a smart buy when buying a turbo

if i get a good deal on a greddy turbo what kind of funds would it take to get my car in the 13-14 second range?

i absolutely want to turbo my car. I'm just trying to spend the right amount on money so i don't over pay on something i don't need or underpay and get screwed.

thoughts?

With a good tune you should get into mid 13's on a stock greddy turbo.

7 grand. There's a lot of extra stuff you have to buy.

Do a search and read the Greddy threads.

Well you should be able to run a 14.5 stock haha but there is a video on Google of a tunned greddy turbo kit with the int-x running a 13.1@107
I'm gussing he'd be running around 270whp. I haven't seen a video of a quicker time but I'm sure with other kits that make over 300whp, you could expect to dab into the 12s. Around $7K with everything is common for a turbo kit on an 8, there isn't really any short-cuts, you're going to want quality stuff.

adrian-1 did 13.1 on a greddy turbo that dynoed before that run at 265 whp.

read this page for associated costs:

Just kind of reiterating, the linked page is probably the best resource around for an FI associated costs primer on the 8

Also depends if you buy used. If you go used, you can get there for under $4K, including Int-X.

You would have to do the install and tuning yourself, but thats the most fun part of owning a turbo anyway.

And how reliable you want it. The more reliable, the more $$$.
