That alone is amazing.
I didn't think there was ANYBODY out there with a GReddy kit that still had a functioning RX-8 AND an e-Manage Blue.

You can't even give away e-Manage Blue units these days.
I think I have 4 of them...

yellowrx8cy 08-01-2011 12:33 AM

yep it was!the guy blowed up the motor and decided to sell the car for parts.
So...what is the white wire????

hmm thanks!

Seriously. We are being unhelpfully sarcastic because most of us really can't believe you are going to used an e-Manage Blue for your setup.
It is an incredibly bad choice given the other options.
Even when the kit came out, it was nearly useless with that EMS and believe me, we tried to get the most out of it.
Much money was spent, vast amounts of time and energy as well and, for the most part, the only outcomes were engine rebuilds.

bse50 08-01-2011 02:01 PM

I heard that you can send a rocket in orbit with that piggyback...
Seriously though, trying to run our engine with an emanage blue is like running windows 7 on a commodore 64... It simply won't work.

TeamRX8 08-01-2011 06:27 PM

actually it would be more like trying to operate a Space Shuttle flight with a Commodore 64 because a disaster is imminent ....

WingleBeast 08-01-2011 06:30 PM

im confused with your blind insistence that you will be literally THE ONLY person to safely run the e-manage

StealthTL 08-01-2011 07:00 PM

You need to talk to this guy -

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/greddy-turbo-blew-engine-220655/#post4044966

you could both learn.....

MazdaManiac 08-01-2011 08:11 PM

Well, that other guy might be running the e-Manage Ultimate, which is incrementally better than the blue. I'd even say that, if properly set-up and if the turbo kit is completely, totally stock, left at stock boost and only the best gas is used in a relatively temperate climate, it might survive for an acceptable period of time.

But, that is a lot of ifs...

Not to blow up your metaphor, but the shuttle was designed to operate with computers that were actually less capable than the Commodore 64.
That said, Apollo went to the moon with computers that were not even as capable as the earliest calculators and the SR-71 was designed with no computers to have no computers.

Lets go with abacus...

no,listen,i now what the bluecrap is but i was thinking to run the car at a 5-6 psi of boost untill i raise money to go for something better,as i dont want to have a turbo kit sitting in my garage!

MazdaManiac 08-02-2011 12:41 AM

It won't live long enough for you to raise the money.
And then, you will need to raise the money for a new motor, too.

Then sell the turbo kit to some other sucker who doesn't do any research before they buy parts off the internet, and get your money back.

BC.

I think what you need to realize here is that you are much better off letting the kit sit in your garage for now. If you don't have the money for something better then I'm sure you don't have the money for a new motor. The chance of you grenading your engine go up exponentially once you slap a turbo on, this increase by several orders of magnitude if you decide to use the emanage blue.

Save up some money and upgrade your management system otherwise you'll be posting in the FS section trying to sell a turbo for a car you can no longer drive.

WingleBeast 08-02-2011 06:25 PM

5-6 psi is not a 'safe' amount of boost. hell people blow engines without any boost, dont go thinking single digit boost is somehow less dangerous with less tuning
