How easy fit engine with Greddy kit attached?
As per title, how easy is it to fit an engine with a standard Greddy kit attached, say the turbo with hot side pipework (RHD car, so the compressor outlet pipe would foul on the steering rack)?
i ask as this might avoid much of the awkward access issues. |
You can do it but just be careful.

Definitely makes the turbo install easier if you do it this way. There are a couple NZ guys on the forums with low mount turbos, I'd ask them about steering rack interference's on RHD they'd know best.
|
Oh RHD, screw that.

Mine is RHD ,It's not really a problem if you take your time lowering the engine in . I know I've done it with turbo on the mani. but don't think I've tried it with the down pipe attached.

Thanks all.

Figured I may as well hijack this post a little. Are there any clearance issues coming up from the bottom if you drop the sub frame? I was contemplating going that route for my install.
|
No. The exception would be if you built the system such that it would interfere chassis and you didn't create clearance for it. Otherwise in/out the bottom is the ideal method if a lift is available.
