Weird,
Sooooo ummm ya, and yet the SSV is still stock right?

I would like to see dyno's with a the configurations.
APV locked open vs. stock

I bet that would be an interesting torque curve.
Especially as the SSV is basically functioning on Load values.

get the apv to working and just change the opening rpm.
on track i have heard of those that tie the ssv open. On the street use all the intake valves except the vdi. That is not needed and can actually hurt your power.

It will reduce your low rpm torque considerably to leave the APV stuck open .

Please Elaborate? I havent touched any of my intake valves, just running whatever Jeff sets them to.

if Jeff tuned your car then the vdi is probably not being used.
I went a step furter and took all the vdi stuff off my lim and jb weilded shut the little valve within the lim. Taking all that stuff off helped to clean up that area a little.
The VDI in therory is suppose to help during the higher rpms--turns out it really doesnt--especially with boosted cars. Boost dones change things within an intake manifold.

^ alright cool good to know, thanks OD... when I was N/A I actually had low MAF readings and tested the rest of my valves except the VDI (which I blamed for the low readings) turns out no big deal anyway

The dyno was a promotional one of dubious reliability. I really struggled to believe it from day one but admit to getting carried away with the excitement of it at the time.

*Dynos of that car before and after the 400+ dyno were both closer to 300whp at 10psi.

* 400 whp + at only 10 psi on a stock block Renesis is a wet dream no matter how you look at it . Especially when you consider that Mazdatrix dynoed similarly at 14 psi with a peripheral port hybrid and Esmeril took 16psi to make the same power.

Well, no one really boosts an auto. Plus even 6 ports aren't making but maybe 30-40WHp more at best. Some 6 ports have made a bit more but only lasted about 5 minutes.

The 4 port plus AT combination is really a big barrier to making hp . Seeing what tofu and Phil have had to go through to get those numbers .... it's hardly surprising .

I do think a turbo could do better with the right tuning/turbo but you also have the AT to battle with once you get up there so ..................

Their are a few of us that have done it.....I know now that Kane has tuned it that it is doing better that 260hp but have not wanted to do a dyno. Actually even with it having been a battle, I am happy with the results. Yes the fact that it is a automatic does have some drawbacks but I would do it again.......

You are a rarity my friend, I just meant that very few people with autos make that leap because the 4 port Auto is just not that popular for FI guys. I would be curious to see what a 6 Port/6 speed Auto would do on 10PSI.

right on phil! I enjoyed the battle too.

But all in all, if i had to do it all again, i would have purchased the 6 port auto.

Unfortunatly the 6port AT was unavailable in 03 when I purchased the car or I would also have gone that way......................but I have what I have and am happy with it.
