Greddy Turbo Kit Oil Drain help
 

Hey i know this is kind of vague, but I was hoping to post here and get a response from others that are very familiar with the Greddy turbo kit and can visualize what I am trying to say below:

I am confused as to what to do with the oil drain line that is coming off the bottom of the turbo ? I bought a used kit that has slightly modified lines and adapters with it. There is a fitting that is welded to the drain flange off the turbo, which then goes into a huge line (5an i believe, about a foot and half long) with a male 5an fitting at the end. Now i know normally the drain line coming off the turbo is supposed to screw into the drain plug with a adapter. Not seeing an adapter... but was confused by how long this attached 5an line is, if it is just suppose to go into the drain plug which is only maybe 4 inches away. So Im wondering, where am i suppose to connect this long 5an line to ?

Sorry for the sloppy post (with no pictures), in the middle of the install so just looking for a quick answer ! I can provide a picture though, if someone would like.

It should connect directly to the Oil Pan.
Preferably a Greddy Oil Pan, which comes with a spot to connect the return hose.
Otherwise you'll need to tap your OEM oil pan with a spot to connect the return hose.

If hose is too long, cut it. You don't want any part of the hose to hang lower than the oil pan.
Any performance shop can sell the the fitting/adapters you need.

Are you sure you are not holding the feed line. That would be long and 5an

Prolly too restrictive too, you want a nice nipple and 4" of hose there.

I think mine is a 10 or 12 an

He has my old kit, there is a 10 an fitting welded to the turbo oil drain. The oil line was then run to a fitting tapped into the pan, I made it longer for better clearance to a higher point on the pan

The male fitting on the end of that hose will fit your oil drain plug. So either you can tap the pan where I did, or cut the hose and reattach the fitting to make it shorter to fit the stock oil pan hole

Okay I get it ! You tapped into the oil pan at a different spot... I will get a 10an male adapter and do that same.

I routed around to the front or the pan. That fitting in there should already be an adapter from M14 to 10AN threads

^^I was just reading through your build thread yesterday looking at that very picture 9krpmrx8... and my setup looks nothing like that, so i was confused. But come to find out the kit I purchased is missing the drain plug adapter, so i ordered one. -> -10AN to M14 adapter

Yep that's the easiest no need to tap anything. Were are you going to be taking the coolant from with your BNR turbo??

I think going to the drain plug is a bad idea. You want an even downward slope to the highest point possible in the pan.

Why not just buy the Greddy Oil Pan?
It also has a larger capacity to carry oil

Really you're going through all this trouble to install the turbo.

While the oil pan is off you can also do the Mazmart oil pressure mod.

unless you get a deal on the greddy pan there really isnt a point in spending the money on it. if your like me you change oil every 3k miles, you dont need more oil then you already have, and you can tap a bung in the right place for like $50. dont see where a $400 pan makes any sense there.

Hmmm well I guess ... I don't exactly agree with the oil quantity thing but ... meh doesn't matter that much.

I agree it's pricey, but it looks good!

It's also cast, so if it hits anything it means total failure.

He did, but I'm sitting in the middle of the Mojave desert on my phone so I couldn't get back to him quick enough I guess.
