Final Build Spec, Opinions please

Just wanting to gauge some opinions and feedback, as iterated above this is my scheduled build so far, its been 5 months of research planning and spec’ing out and I am just now putting all the piece together and getting the first stages in motion. I am still undecided about my initial power plant I currently have a 6port M/t W/ 28K on it that runs like a champ matted to a series 1 transmission that until recently has been very smooth but I believe synchro’s are on the way out. I have contacted Pettit racing about building me another engine with a very subtly street port and upgraded apex and oil seals. Something that will give me a little bit of a boost as far as an NA block but not going so far as to completely ruin structural integrity and compromise longevity of the block. I then will start hunting for a series 2 transmission to mate with the pettit ported short block. Or I may just use my existing power plant until failure occurs then replace with the plant stated above. This is the only thing I have not figured out yet as I just started speaking with pettit.

Parts list so far.

Esmerial V4 turbo kit (yes emseril, besides lack of communication and knock off waste gates and BOV, there precision turbo I believe is one of the best for our cars) This kit comes with high flow injectors, upgraded fuel pump everything needed for a base build.

Esmeril Upgraded ignition kit and battery relocation, I will also be going with the turbo heat cover as well as some heavy duty heat shielding around ECU and OMP units to prevent failure at high temps.

Underdrive pully Kit

Upgraded radiator (One with a Davis Core)

Tuning Via COBB (with the modified MAF housing as this is needed to tune this kit with COBB

Mazmart high flow water pump

Greddy oil pan with upgraded oil regulator

Water/Meth injection (Higher end kit that has very reputable and reliable flow rate’s)

ACT prolight flywheel and street clutch disk

Gauges (Wideband A/F, Boost, Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp)

3” Exoticspeed midepipe and catback

I am currently shifting finances and will start ordering supporting MOD’s first and getting the actual turbo kit once I feel I have all other aspects covered and/or until a good kit goes for sale used

I am still waiting to work out all my specs with pettit but depending how that gets worked out I may just get a complete block from them and mate my S2 transmission and then get that ready and just do a complete swap when I have all the parts. I would then be able to retain the stock power plant as a spare just incase something happens.
Without a new power plant I am budgeting a minimum of 10g with the reality side probably being more around 12g.

From here please comments opinions anything crucial I have missed?

I'll let you know the price when They give me one lol, keep in mind this is just my HP mods I have an entire excel dedicated to the whole car build from suspension an brakes to interior and exterior appearance. But I'm just gettin my motor work done this winter this is just my project car I put only 4K miles on it a year. Just something I have always wanted to do a serious build on my final budget on this car rivals mortgage's but it is planned out over many years.

9K build is sick I have been reading it a bunch it is quite lengthy but hands down worth every minute spent reading it.

So it has been decided after a lengthy talk with Cam. I will be sending my motor in to be street ported as well as upgraded via Pettit propriatary rebuilding methods. So about 3 more weeks of driving up here before winter sets in then I will be pulling my motor and shipping it down to them for some spa treatment. Guess this means I need to start looking for a good S2 Transmission now.

Trust me, despite the thread title you don't want to hear my real opinion about people who seek approval for what they're going to do some day ...

Not seeking approval, just putting my proposed build out there to get feedback, i do not nor will I clam to be an expert by any means and no this is not the route that other people will choose but it is the one I did, agree with it or don't agree with it regardless it doesn't effect my plains. But there is nothing wrong with seeking active feedback from a group that know's more about this topic then I could fathom.

The more criticism the better as far as I am concerned this is still a learning process and I am not ignorant to the point of deterring any sort of advice regardless the source but at the end of the day in agreement or not with the steps i take towards my own goal I only ask that you respect my decision regardless of bias.

Just source the turbo from precision themselves... I can speak on the kit as I had all of the issues.

Go with BHR for your ignition, Injector Dynamics (ID) for your high flow injectors and get the aeromotive pump from summit, its black and red.

I tried the COBB with the kit and it does not work. Get a stand alone ECU like the adaptronic and get someone familiar with it to do the tune. You will save $$$ and much headache in the long run. My car sat for a year trying to get it moving having vendors screw me over. If I had been a lot wiser and not in a rush for more power, I would have gone a completely different route.

Best of luck!

Yes I read up on your threads, as far as the kit is concerned the main prices I want are the precision turbo the manifold the intercooler and piping and the ignitin system has great reviews everything else is of no concern to me regarding that kit, waste gate BOv all the other stuff Idc for in that kit, I'll scroung for a good used kit and have the turbo rebuilt, keep what I want and disregard the problem components.

Regarding tuning I really didn't want to use the microtech or a stand alone, from what I've read as long as you modify the MAF housing correctly then COBB tuning is possible. Still researching this though.

Why would you spend money on a kit and plan on tossing out half the components?

Turblown's top mount kit is far better designed and is actually designed to be tuned via a Cobb.

There are many documented issues with the Esmeril Kit, poor reviews, and absolutely horrible customer service. Why would you want to deal with this?

And what makes you think the Precision Turbo they offer is one of the best for our cars?
I wouldn't even consider a Precision Turbo, go with a Garrett or Borg Warner.

Like Faith&Firepower recommended, go with the BHR Ignition(Actually support the products they sell and has sold thousands more than esmeril with massively good feedback), Injector Dynamics Injectors(Ask anyone that knows what they are talking about, they set the standard in the industry), Aeromotive 340lph Fuel Pump(I'd be surprised if Esmeril is actually including this pump with their kit, they previously included a cheap off brand 255lph pump made by some company Tre Performance)

All very valid points, it seems earlier today doing some research on tuning I am rethinking Esmeril, have not thrown it out just yet. Just contemplating a better option if ones available.

I appreciate your input I will defiantly start looking into that, I have seen the low mount kit and although it has key benefits I wanted a top mount kit but never dug any further with them.

Ahh I remember now why i wrote that method off, the whole relocation and disuse of the OMP threw a red flag on that system. Everything Else was spot on but even though i don't think negatively of premixing I do not believe that it is enough and that the OMP needs to be utilized. I know there was talk of them making a custom manifold that would allow the OMP to be retained but i don't know of anyone running that setup
