If you did a search for MPG in Major Horsepower Upgrades you would have found that thread and others. Now that you have an answer you should delete your post to prevent the flames.

odd that i did perform a search with mpg and turbo, yet must've overlooked that one... my bad!

tnx a lot, though

ooook...
i've read the topic, (trully interesting, no questions about that) but i was looking for something more specific then a generalisation of FI effects on mpg.

namely, a before-after mpg? i know driving styles have a big role in mpg, and that is precisely why i would have liked a before-after mpg of the same car/driver.

as well, provided some of us have other turbos then the greddy one, a comparison between their general effect on mpg/output at certain boost lvls, mayhaps....

still searching, no need to shoot me down yet :P
tnx

In city driving, lots of stop and go, and lots of boosting I got 17mpg before turbo and now get 13mpg after. I suspect on the highway I would get 16 or so mpg.

Interesting, so if you go FI, you get less MPG?

I used to own Audi S4 Twin-Turbo, Stock boost was around 9 PSI then when I chipped it, I was boosting around 18 PSI.

I actually got better MPG(around 24-26) with the chip when I drove normally, then when I go crazy, I got about (9 to 15 MPG)

Oh, in stock form I got about 19-21

At cruise my mpg were better with the turbo. The furthest I went was about 290miles before I had to refuel, vs about 260 NA. That is mostly due to tuning though. I drive like a grandma with the turbo because I didn't want to boost much during city driving, and I'd still get about 15-16mpg, but with NA I get about 19mpg with slightly more aggressive driving.
