Esmeril Turbo

It has been nearly 3 years of happy miles since I have Esmeril Turbo installed in my car. The kit has been very reliable for me so far with the new precision 6265 billet turbo with snow performance meth injection along with the Esmeril Apex Seals when Chris rebuild the engine for me. My car is running open wastegate, no boost creep and I also installed Hallman manual boost controller which greatly help increase the response of the turbo. The car still needs a bit more fine tune on the upper rpm but it runs really good as is at the moment. When the weather gets better here in the state of MN, we are planning on dyno the car and get an idea what sort of power the car makes for a conservative set up. My car currently is running 9 psi and it pulls like mad and sound awesome doing it. If you wish to see my set up you can do search under my name "Luckycat."

By the way, I heard that Esmeril Turbo kit is going on sale at a very low price. I wish I bought mine that cheap! Go visit the vendor forum at

for more detail. I am satisfy with the quality of this turbo kit and also very satisfy with the customer service Chris provides. This turbo has finally turn my car from"mild" to "wild!"

Luckycat, I was going to do a rebuild on my engine with esmeril apex seals but I am going to wait until this winter to get that done. I think my engine will be fine until then. Do you use an accessport?

I use microtech on mine. It works just fine. It will not be as good as accessport but it is good and reliable for me so far and I have no complain. Esmeril kit is currently not set up to use with accessport.

Due to the blow through maf, its harder for the cobb.

I have the microtech also. I have been hearing good things about it so I guess there is really no need for an AP. By the way, how does your car compare to other cars on the road now that you have the esmeril kit? I imagine you are blowing doors off cars that would normally keep up!

Microtch will get the job done just fine. A good tune will go along way on the reliability and drivability of the car. And about how quick the car is. I don't race others on the street but I had several friendly rollings on highway. I ran with several cars like a E46 M3, 350Z and a Pontiac Gran Prix GXP (has V8) and I am quicker than those cars. Rx8 is a pretty light weight car so with this much power added to the car you can only imagine how much quicker the car would be. I only run 8-9lbs of boost and it is already pretty quick.

We are planning on doing that. I just got new plugs in the car two days ago and got oil change. The car is ready to go. I plan on dropping by to see Chris to have him check the tune to make sure it is good and then we'll hit the dyno. I have my car set up as a reliable street driver so no crazy high boost runs here. I plan on running around 10 lbs or so. I have Hallman manual boost controller.

Why did you decide to go to the manual one? What did you have before that?

I choose manual boost controller because it is simple to hook up and I don't have to rely on electronic which can be difficult to trouble shoot.

which one are you using?

I use Hallman Pro RX manual boost controller. It has ceramic ball which react very very fast.

yeah, I was looking at the Evolution RX remote version which is uber nice, excellent choice on your part :boink:
