Coming home after doing some in gear logs the other day I accelerated out of a corner and straight away heard this horrible rattling noise (not detonation). Engine was toast so I pulled it out only to find turbo was gone as well . Just had the engine dismantled last night and found part of the siamese sleeve had been ingested by the engine and spat out into the turbo . Pretty gutted about it all I have to say . Was able to see how the E&J solid corner seals were going after only about 2000kms . Not good I'm afraid . They were already starting to dig into the exhaust port land and making a wear mark all around the iron. The apex seal wear doesn't look great either . This engine wasn't going to last very long even if the siamese hadn't fallen to bits. Suspect the E50 played a hand in both seal issues but I know with the RX8 corner seals and ALS apexs I definitely didn't see wear like this. we do feel for the issue in hand and we work hard to make sure our customers dont experience this types of situation. if you still feel that you were scamed or sold fake E&J renesis corner seals please contact us so we can help you find the person that is using our brand to steal from innocent customers. thank you Edgar Perez President E&J Autoworks |

No biggie...I ordered diff corner seals. Customer Service is meh... Now I just have to get Rotors Magazine to refund me my money that they said would have been refunded at the beginning of the month. The whole ordeal has been a headache. (that last part was not your fault) /rant |

(that last part was not your fault) /rant about the rx8, is this the first time it ran with the 13b corners? if so we need to look at the tolerance they gave the rotors. if they gave the apex seal slot too much spring preasure it will wear the apex seals excessively. is it possible for us to see the corners and apex seals. if i understood the post correctly, he used oem and our seals first and had no issues then he changed and the issue appeared. also in the post it says that the turbo sucked some thing into the engine, could that been the cause of some of the damages? thank you |

Wow. Curious, since the Siamese port was broken and sucked in are you certain the wear isn't from foreign debris? I just need to scope mine to see what it looks like...

This was more difficult than I anticipated lol... But as far as I can see I have a mirror finish. I can clearly see all the LEDs of the camera reflecting on the surfaces. There is one dark streak but I believe that to be oil. The mirror for the camera is poor quality and with it on it was too large diameter to fit in the plug hole, so I had to remove the holder and electrical tape it on. I was holding my breath hoping it wouldn't fall off in there!!!

Pity the pics are so blurry . Good to hear yours is looking ok . My experience is consistent with what some people are experiencing with E85 over in the 7 forum.
