Hey Brett, what was that 4 door you lined up with? Looks like a GLC that used to be sold in the states.
Bluey is very nice looking, if it wasn't so darn hot here I might repaint mine that color. |

Had a bad experience with this car recently when I got stuck in traffic on a hot day. After several minutes of a nice pulsing idle like it normally does, it stopped pulsing and started surging instead. Several more minutes passed and then the water temp warning buzzer went off on my gauge. Temperature kept climbing and reached around 105C before it stabilised. No good!
When I got home, and after some deliberation, I decided to remove the stock air intake tray to allow more flow for the fans. That meant the AEM style intake was taking the full flow of air from the fans so I fitted some heat shielding around the intake/maf tubes as well. Today I finally got around to testing whether this has done the trick .... ambient temp. was 29C. I went for a drive and when I got back left the car to idle. After about 5 min. the temp. had gone past the low speed setting and hit the high speed fan setting (95C on this car). Was happy to see that the water temp now goes down when the high speed fans kick in. Not only that , but the nice rotary pulsing idle was retained. So .......problem solved!:ylsuper: |
that’s a sigh of relief for sure
makes me think back to past when the Strokercharged REW RX8 lost all of it’s coolant and overheated; three or four different times due to various coolant system hoses bursting, yet managed to survive them all. . |
