boosted in Cali

hey guys I was wondering if anybodys turbo build is CA emission compliable... I have doubts but worth a shot lol. thanks in advance

short answer, no

long answer, laws are "flexible"

tazfc3s 08-23-2011 10:18 PM

should have added except visual...

You can use Cobb AP to get rid of CELs. As far as the visual I think you have three options:
1. Take the turbo off before inspection
2. Find a creative way to make the engine bay look stock with the turbo on
3. Find a "flexible shop"

Good luck!

^^
Well, you may be able to make the engine bay look stock, but you'll have a hard time to make the engine sound stock...
I say the only way (without uninstalling the turbo which is a pain of course) is #3.

what are you talking about? None of those cars are boosted. Turbo RX8's are illegal in CA according to C.A.R.B..... :uhh: :suspect:

as people have said already:
you'll never pass the visual without being very creative
you also won't pass the sniffer test without a catalytic converter which most remove with the turbo.
