No need for the nitrous, get the right intercooler if yours will prove inadequate

Or you could just bring the hose inside the cabin and place it in your nostril... that'd be fun.

well you dont want it flat but if you need the space and can mount it like gregs (with a slight angle) then you should get good airflow. plus you can get nice flow to rad.

So who here thinks I should keep the nitrous and either use a very small shot for fun or use it as an intercooler cooler.

I disagree

You should sell it to

Yeah no one ever NEEDS nitrous but it is just so damn fun. I don't know why so many people are so scared of it.

I am just thinking a 25HP shot would be nice to have on stand by when needed to fight off those pesky Mustang's and Camaro's.

Just put more thoughts into the build itself and you won't need the n2o

With an internally gated setup you are risking overboost.

Yeah, I'll see how much it gets in the way or complicates things. For now, I have half a bottle to use

just lay it back at an angle and box in the sides to trap the air for the intercooler and radiator

once you get the intercooler you can spend some time over a weekend or something trying to figure out how to fit it. This is where all the fun stuff starts. custom fabrication FTW.

I ended up placing mine stright up and down. I have the ms intake stuffed in there behind it with about a cm of clearnce between the intercooler fins and the filter. Like a glove. I just need to work on getting it perfectly centered.

K I've heard mixed things about this subject so i just wanna know something. I know a bit about turbo kits on other cars but have never really heard anything about how they are on the 8's being that it's a rotary engine. So i figured i would come to the source and get some answers. Besides the obvious hp boost what changes when you turbo the 8's. Like i mean what do u have to pay more attention to and like that type of stuff also does it wear down the engine faster then other cars. Donno just trying to see if i should or shouldn't do it with mine.

This is not the thread for that. That's been discussed ad nauseam on this forum. Please use the search function made available to you at the top of the page. Godspeed

Radiator cooling and that Mazda Reman will be your week links. If your oil and water temps stay under control and you keep the boost under 10PSI with a solid tune the motor should stay intact, but keep a few dollars in the bank for a quality rebuild or better yet, buy a second motor and build it for a spare.

Use a good oil cooler as a secondry radiator on the passenger side to get water temps lower. Go as big as possible, went small and I will be upgrading.

Your oil cooler should be sufficiant even with the intercooler in the way. Mount the intercooler low and or angled back which will give you a little downforce or do a top mount with a vented hood and fan like MM.

If you need better oil cooling you can always add a second to the drivers side.

FYI that search bar you speak of is what brought me here to this thread. You know there's a lot of people who told me that the RX8 "crew" is full of people who are very welcoming and helpful to new comers. It was also said that its not full of a bunch of dicks, like the other car groups. Granted I have found a few decent people in it, but with a comment like that your not exactly upholding "not a dick" image are you.

before this gets messy... Dude, you jumped into someones build thread and started asking questions that aren't the easiest to answer (without enticing other questions).
go to the "Major hosepower upgrades" section of the forums and read the stickies. You'll get your answers there
