Zapco Amplifier Suggestions

I am currently considering whether I want to go with the Zapco line. A search didn't yield much in the way of opinion on the line other than that they are good.

Here is what I have now:
JL 450/4 driving Boston Acoustics 6.5.3 up front and Boston Acoustics Z6 in the rear
JL 1000/1 driving a JL 12w7 sub.

Does anyone with experience with Zapco have an opinion on whether this would be an upgrade over my JLs and which series and model I should go with? Or if I should do it to begin with.

My initial impression is what IF I do this I should go with the DC1000.4 for the speakers and the 1100.1 for the subs.

Constructive observation and comments are greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about the current Zapco stuff, but I know they used to make some pretty slick equipment. I don't know if it's worth ditching your JL stuff for them though, any reason why you're wanting off the JL bandwagon? I guess it really all depends on what you're trying to accomplish by switching. :dunno:

Mostly thinking in terms of is it an upgrade? I'm by no means unhappy with the JL amps, quite the contrary. I won a SQ competition with them. I suppose it's just a matter of wanting the best equipment possible. No different than making comparisons between RB struts and MS struts in that regard. Thanks for asking.

well...

You would only notice a difference in sound quality with the Zapco running your high end. They are a cleaner amp. The JL is more of a power amp, but compared to other power amps, they are pretty clean. I have used both and have been happy with both. I also sold zapco for 10 years and JL. Can't go wrong with either.
