Xcarlink modification?
 

I bought the Xcarlink iPod connection thing, and I recently sold my iPhone for another phone. I bought the version of xCarlink with just the iPod connection.

I tried to buy this:

to replace the iPod/iPhone connection, but every time I plug my phone in, it makes my phone turn off.

I was wondering if it's possible to modify the original cord and splice in an aux cable since they carry that actual product pictured here:

Have you figured out which wires on the other side carry the 5V power? I am going to try to do this myself, but I would like to splice a microusb cable to the power so I can have one cable for charging and audio.
