Working with Plexi glass or Lexan?
Ok I have a question for those who have done audio work before I have my 8 and I noticed like most the need for some low end bass. While waiting to buy I thought of some ideas for audio. After the few pics I have seen of small subs in the pass through I decided not to do that they are just to visable for me and the thought of that right next to a friend ear while going down the road just doesn't sound polite. So I decided to go with two JL 10w0's in the trunk and the guy at the audio store suggested the jl 250/1 amp, looks good so far but heres the real question for then install parts labor and everything amp and subs included he quoted me like 1200. Thats high to me, I plan on saving moeny by getting the subs and amp else where. but I asked about a plexi cove for the amp that I want put inf the well in the trunk, and I asked about carving a logo or something and he admited it would be an extra 100-200 dollars and that he wasn't sure if he could do it he may ahve to send it out. Now the real question is how hard to work with is this? I have done limited work with it at work mostly cutting into large rectangles. but it seems easy and lexan material is rather cheap in large sheets at like lowes. Also any place I could see some pics of plexi used in some audio installs would be great thanks.
