Will funky wiring with Bazooka fry head unit?

With the great installation pictures posted by members I was able to install a Bazooka subwoofer into my car, however... I got confused at the stage of wiring the signal given that I have an 06 with Bose stereo and went trailblazing instead.

I didn't use a LOC even though every thread I read seemed to suggests this (plus I still don't understand what it does and why it needs to be installed). Instead I took a 2 lead RCA cable and cut in half. I used the open wire end to tap into the pre-amp signal of the rear right speaker. What ended up happening is that with only one RCA plugged into the Bazooka the whole sub system seemed to respond fine. What I don't understand is that it only works if I plug in the RCA HALF WAY. In other words, if I have the whole RCA plugged in the sub doesn't recieve signal.

Is this setup kosher or am I totally screwing with my head unit?

Well atleast the system sounds good!

Thanks for the input!!!

It sounds like you have one of your + & - switched.

Do I have to adjust this or can I leave it as such?

Something is definitely wrong & you need to fix it. Verify you have both positives & negatives correct. It sounds like one of them is backwards.
