^they only sell the lotek type of gauge pod that goes on top, and its more expensive on their site.

The picture he showed was of the lotek pod... which your right, it does go on top. You can also find it occasionally on e-bay, that is where I got mine.

rx8phase1 07-20-2008 04:15 AM

n rider 89 thanks ima be buying them from there.just wondering what are the clamps for what do you clamp them to?

rx8speeddmon 07-20-2008 09:48 AM

After you remove your center dash piece you need to cut a hole in it. You then glue the pod to it and clamp it down until the clue drys. It will look like this when done.

airbag light? looks like a cigarette lighter... :eyetwitch

rx8phase1 07-21-2008 02:08 AM

yeah on my 8 thats the airbag light for the passenger side it lights up saying airbag off when a certain amount of weight is on it i think if its under a hundred pounds

MisplacedRotors 07-21-2008 10:56 AM

before 06 at least in the states in the it was just a circle in the dash

rx8speeddmon 07-21-2008 11:52 AM

Yes, it is just an accessory plug for the radar detector... haven't gotten around to hard-wiring it yet. The gauges I got are oil pressure, oil temp, and coolant temp. The gauges are from prosport, which many on the site have. I looked at past transactions and lotek on ebay login name is lotekengineering. The gauges are from http://prosportgauges.com/.

rx8phase1 07-21-2008 09:35 PM

i would get the voltage/fuel and the third im still deciding our car already has an oil pressure gauge and temp.so what do you guys think my third should be?

TheWulf 07-21-2008 09:49 PM

^ don't rely too much on the stock gauges. they aren't very accurate -- especially the oil pressure gauge

rx8phase1 07-22-2008 01:52 AM

^ yeah my oil pressure one has always been in the same place a lil over the middle hopefully thats a good thing lol

rx8speeddmon 07-22-2008 01:59 AM

All that shows is if you've got pressure or not.... I like watching mine bounce up and down w/ the throttle.

rx8phase1 07-22-2008 02:06 AM

^ haha thats bada$$ ima get the oil pressure gauge for my third then....one more thing on a scale from 1-5 how hard is the install im asking cuz im afraid of doing anything that includes cutting or making holes in my car

rx8speeddmon 07-22-2008 01:53 PM

For me about a 3. My temperment isn't suited to this time consuming task...... at times I just wanted to use a hammer. It is just basically pulling wires and keeping them straight, but I read through other install threads to find the wires to tap. GL w/ your install.
