V1 hardwire problem. system?
 

So today i was giving my friends a little demo of my JL's :) but while i was doing that i noticed my V1 started turning off then on then off again.... now im not sure what the cause of this is... would it be from the vibration of the subs?

info: i hardwired the V1 using the blue splice into the map light wire, also i took out the map light lights and replaced them 4 days ago, so maybe the wire had moved around when i poped the map light piece back in... or could this be an electrical problem due to the subs?

any suggestions?

Radar detectors hardly draw any current. While not impossible, I would be very surprised if it was due to a power drain.

With the radar detector on, wiggle the plug. See if the power cycles. If it does, you have a loose plug.

Is there an inline fuse? if so, wiggle the wires and the fuse holder. If the power cycles, you have a bad connection in or on the fuse holder.

Expose the wiring. With the detector on, prod around a bit. Wiggle the wires. If the power cycles, you have a loose connection.

Try that and check all around your map light replacement - make sure everything is solid and neat. Then report back.

I would defenitely take the wire under the dash to the ingnition harness for the radar detector...current draw plays a factor in just about everything....besides the fact that mazda puts that small of a wire to the map light expecting that no one would ever tie into it....sounds like an easy fix....make sure your ground is good and go for the ignition harness..

Check the "Phone" wire plug, mine has done it to, reseat the plug, or replace...
