USB/SD/AUX kit
 

Hey guys,

I have purchased a kit to be able to plug in my usb flashes to the music system. However there are 2 questions I have:
1. I keep on seen that they wont work with a 10 firm where (which I have)?
2. I am supposed to solder a bridge between the L716. However at my car the HU has a different layout than the pics I have seen on the net?

Does this mean that it wont work on mine???
Can you guys help me out?

Hmmm sounds like a cheap Chinese eBay special. The name-brand kits most of us use do not require any soldering. So I'm not sure what exactly you're talking about there. Link to the kit? Pictures of the kit? Instructions? Anything?

Actually you right its nothing special the kit. The matter is, so that the kit functions i am supposed to solder the l716 location on the radio board. But the board of the radio does look quite different than the pics i am found on google, who did that mod.

English is not your first language? It's tough for me to understand you...

Like I said, all the aux input kits we use here do not require soldering a bridge of any kind. They're plug and play. The "CD hack" mod is the only one I know that requires any soldering at all and it doesn't mention anything about an L716. No clue what you're talking about my man.

Hey man, I tend to write on the Ipad, hence the English sounds a bit bad. Now with some proper English, for better understanding.
When I first bought the kit (which kinda looks like the xcarlink - has an AUX In/SD card reader and USB - no Bluetooth), the seller told me to just plug and play. However, my radio ( firmware 10.1) did not recognize the kit, despite properly attached. So when I contacted the seller and did some research, found out that there has to be some soldering done. Just type" L716 soldering mazda" you will get some pics etc. I did detach my radio etc and when I had the board open I realized that the outline of the radio board was different than the board on the pic. This L716 was at a totally different place, hence I haven’t done anything.

Hmm. Never heard of it. But all the googling I've done and the pictures I've found are for the Mazda 6. That's probably why your headunit's layout is a little different. If you google "RX8 L716" , this thread is the first thing to come up. lol Most of the kits we have say they're incompatible with 10.1 firmware. They don't go into detail saying you can make it work by soldering any bridge. But please, if you search your headunit, find a spot labeled L716, make the bridge, and it works.... let us know! I'll post it up in the FAQ sticky at the top of the forum.
