Unused wires in harness
 

Are there any wires between the front and dashboard harnesses that are physically present but possibly unused if certain options are not installed? I'm just thinking this might be the case rather than actually having multiple harness variants depending on all the optional that can be configured. It might provide a way to repurpose.

I haven’t looked, but as an engineer working for an Oem if there are I would be surprised.

These harnesses are made in large runs, and every cent gets accounted for and optimized. It costs less (surprisingly) to create variants for each trim/pkg level than to leave the extra material (and therefore cost) in the harness. This is thanks to the way harnesses are made.
