Trunk dimensions?

Does anyone know what is the exact dimension of the rx8 trunk?

Thanks Daniel

no, but im sure if we went and got a tape measure, we could figure it out. now if you are asking the volume of the trunk, its about 7.6 cubic feeta according to mazda

psbjames1970 10-01-2005 08:07 PM

with or without the spare...

It is a one body trunk (if you are small), perhaps two if they are chopped up. :D

^^roflmao

Dlin23 10-01-2005 09:51 PM

no spare

LOL

but why do you need exact dimensions, box ?

Dlin23 10-01-2005 11:26 PM

o I might be getting getting 3 X 10 inch jl subs and it comes with a jl box for all 3 dunno if it will be able to fit in the trunk O_O because the rx8 trunk is like super small lol.

I have a kicker 1000 watt amp, 2 10" kicker solos in a sealed enclosure, and can still fit 2 golf bags... I wouldn't say the trunk is SUPER small.... Although, I don't think a standard 3 sub enclosure will fit.. You could probably get away with a custom setup.

get the size of box and we will let you know if it will fit
im assuming you want it to sit flush or near the backseats ? not taking up the trunk

dillsrotary 12-21-2007 04:53 PM

its just big enough for two dead 14 year olds......

zoom44 12-21-2007 06:25 PM

yeah two DB's is maximum without getting wet

Greyfixer 12-21-2007 06:46 PM

I haven't done any measurements, but I would say that the box would not be able to fit through the trunk opening.

paulmasoner 12-21-2007 10:12 PM

it will fit, but your not likely gonna get it in the trunk unless you are willing to pull out the rear seats and go through the metal bracing thats behind it....

why do we need a separate thread? merging this with the other one you asked in

clopez11 01-30-2008 12:03 PM

While on topic, does anyone know how wide horizontally the back of the truck is against the back seats and how tall it is from base to top of seats? I want to put the BAsslinkT in the trunk if possible, because its better than the first basslink. my car is at the dealer or else i would measure myself. But i can't find the measurements anywhere online

WikkedOne 01-30-2008 02:59 PM

you know, if you did a search.... You would have come up with this thread I did a while back - where i took alot of measurements and drew it up in AutoCad

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/here-trunk-dimensions-subwoofer-design-89366/

I think i still have them around here somewhere if somebody wants some better pictures

I know I'm a bit late here, but that crossbrace unbolts and comes right out. So he could remove the brace, slide in the box, then bolt the brace back in.
