Switching Parking Lights To Turn on With Fog Lights Only

How do i do this....I want to be able to turn on my headlights without the parking breaks turning on.thats first off.
then i want to be able to turn on the fog lights and the parking lights on at the same time on.
basically i want my own switch to turn the parking lights on and off as i please. any1 already done this?
if so, advice/how you did it.
level of difficulty/problems encountered.
if your wondering why i want this it is because im replacing the parking light bulbs with red bulbs so i dont want to get pulled over at night wen the headlights are forcing the parking lights to be on.
thanks in advance.~

Go to the DIY section of this forum and do some searches, I believe you will find what you seek in there.

Check in the second post for starters................ https://www.rx8club.com/forumdisplay...aysprune=&f=73

Wait, you want the lowbeams, the parking lights, and the fog lights all working independently of eachother?

I think it may be easiest to make your own wiring harness for the parking lights if that's what you want to do. Making the fog lights independent is easy from behind the fuse box, but the parking lights are more difficult to separate from the low beams. But if you run your own wiring harness, you disconnect the parking lights from everything else and give them it's own switch. Also, the parking lights are the only lights with a low enough current draw as to be safe to muck about with.

thread resurection!

Ive been wanting to do this since i have blue parking lights and i dont want to get pulled over. I've searched but all threads are about rewiring the fog lights blah blah blah... anyway, here is how you do it...

simply cut the wires that go to the parking lights from the wire harness and make the connection directly to the fog light wires, make sure to insulate parking light cable thats left on the wire harness since that will have 12v every time your low beams are on....

hope this helps and please dont flame if this had been posted before.....

Finally! lol.. Ive been searching for an hour now. Everything is always foglight related. If there is another thread that has a better explanation, could someone please point me to it? If not then i guess i will make do here.

All i want is to rewire my parking lights to my fog lights. My fogs are already independent. I got the demon eyes and was just pulled over yesterday (twice in 1 year so not too bad). First time got a ticket and paid $50. I rather pay then go through the damn trouble of replacing those god forsaken bulbs. Second time the guy let me go with a warning. I see the cop around a lot by me and i dont really feel like pissing him off so yea...

THREAD RESURRECTION X2!!

So I painted my headlight housings black and installed some little leds that are supposed to give me demon eyes. My issue is I don't know how to wire them into the parking lights so that the demon eyes will turn on with the parking lights. The demon eyes are basically small 1" LED Strips that have a 15" wire coming out of the back of the headlight itself now. So I need to splice this into the wiring for the parking lights for the effect I'm looking for. I have an 04, can anyone help??

1. look for the parking light wiring (the ones that come out of the small "position lights"in the inboard position of each headlight should do nicely)
2. peel the wires a little
3. splice the LED wires to the peeled part of the wires (use wire solder preferably) make sure to splice positive to positive and ground to ground
4. insulate your splice very well
viola! your LEDs are now powered by your parking lights.
(you can use quick taps to replace steps 2-4, but you risk it being a shoddy connection that may not stand the test of time and weather)

I tried this and got nothing! Im thinking7ng of running them straight to the fuse box.

Then you are doing this wrong? It should be as easy and taking your wires and splicing them with the parking lights, as mentioned.

I have CCFL' angel eyes, though I run them to my own switch inside the car, as I do not want them running all the time, and I can have it run without the parking lights on.
