Switching from cloth to leather - question

So I am going to pick up a white Shinka interior on sunday and all of the pieces out with my cloth interior pieces, including the center console part with the butt warmer switches. The drivers side seat on the new interior is a power seat, mine is not.

My question is, provided the harnesses that he is giving me, will I be able to hook up the power seat? and the butt warmers? Since my car doesn't originally come with them?.

Thanks,
~Danny

I am pretty sure they will. If you take apart the center console where the buttons for the seat warmers are, there are plugs for the switches ready to go, which tells me that they should also be on the main harness running. I can't tell you if the power seat part will work though, That is a good question. If you have removed your seats that would help a lot with your search for answers. Maybe there are plugs down there ready to go as well? I can go check on my car later when I head to class. I also have the base interior and would like to switch interiors later on.

I think the harness includes all the wiring......Don't think they had different harnesses for the base model

Someone said they do that for all cars, that it would cost too much to put separate harnesses and plugs for different models. Makes sense, I'll be tearing it apart on saturday night and installing new interior on Sunday. So I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks!
Let me know if anyone else has some input.

Yes. I swapped my cloth for leather. It all went in smooth. Are you going to cut into the piece behind your shifter to install the buttons or are you going to swap that piece out?

We're swapping, he got bride seats so he has no use for those buttons. Thanks for letting me know guys, this has brought me some ease. I was scared of having a non functional power seat lol.

Yep. That goes for nearly every optional feature on every car. Traction control buttons, factory sat radio, tons of things.

so just to clarify, are the plugs for the butt warmers in the center console easy to find? I'm assuming it plugs somewhere in the center console and the seats also plug into them?

This has got me to want to go ahead with the swap on mine too!

Yeah, the wiring harnesses for the buttons are just chillin behind the shifter. If I remember, the actually have little holders.

Is the harness part of the car? as in, does he have to give it to me, or do I have the part in my car to plug into the buttons?

You already have the harness in your car. You just need the switches.

That harness at the bottom is for your switches. Notice that has cloth interior and the wiring is still there.

Garage has terrible lighting and it's impossible getting contrast right when you use flash with a cell phone. I can't pull the car out because it's on stands lol.

firebirdude 03-30-2014 05:00 PM

haha just busting your chops man. Looks great.

yurcivicsux 03-30-2014 07:02 PM

whoa, love it, when you get it off the stands lets see some high def pics. nice. my car came loaded so i cant imagine driving without leather, but i had a base integra years ago and it sucked, swapped that ish out for the black leather gs-r interior..... any way congrats....

RXeligion 03-30-2014 07:59 PM

wrapping the silver bars on the console in piano black is my favorite thing I've done to my car. It cleans up the look dramatically. Congrats on your new interior.

Danmn858 03-31-2014 11:28 AM

Thanks guys! I'm absolutely in love with this interior, I dropped it off to get deep cleaned and conditioned before I put it in and its seriously like new.
and one thing to keep note of is that you have to switch seatbelts (female end) plus their harnesses too because my harness for the seatbelt plug was twice the size of his so it didn't plug into the bottom of the seat, since we kept our own seatbelts originally. So we had to meet up again to swap lol
