super easy free speaker fix.

If you don't have the extra cash for some nice new front speakers, like me, and are tired of the speakers cutting out then here is an easy fix. All i did is completely skip the door amplifier and run the speaker right to the wiring.

Step 1: remove door panel.

Step 2: Unscrew speaker and amp from door.

Step 3: follow the red and green wires from the speaker to the amplifier. A few inches away from the amp the red and the green wire split into four wires (become 2 red and 2 green). Separate the wires where they intersect so you have just the one red and one green wire.

Step 4: Unplug the amp from the white harness. Throw amp in trash and curse at it a few times.

Step 5: Look directly at white plug that hooked to the amp and on the left side there is a white wire and a red wire. Snip those two wires and strip them. Now take the red wire from the speaker harness and connect it (solder or butt connector) to the red wire from the white harness. Then same for the green to the white.

You now have a functional speaker that will not cut out on you and was free to do. Is this the best solution? No, but atleast the speaker works and doesn't make you punch the door panel anymore. It may sound bland with the stock head unit, but i have an aftermarket one which pumps a little more juice to them and it sounds pretty decent still.

you may want to take the amps out of the trash and check this out....

that DIY worked great for me... now my speakers work like the car was new.

yeah i roam the site and read that thread. I'd rather the speaker work at 60% than not at all. I will eventually get a decent component set.

Send me your amps, I have been looking for a set to run some tests on!

I'd rather have my speakers work at 100%, 100% of the time for $1.67.
