sub help

This might be to tough to diagnose with out actually looking at it but here goes

I have two mtx 10 inch subs one of the 4000 and one of the 6000 series. I have a kenwood 1000 watt amp with the LOC from the rear amp. I have Z-enclosure custom fit box.
8 Gauge from the battery.

My f'in subs barely chime in over the bose system. What is the deal? any ideas?

so, you have 2 different subs hooked up to the same amp? I would have to ask forbidden - but that sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I tried to look up what subs you have but you need to be alot more specific on which subs you have so we can see if they can be on the same amp - also you should probably describe how you have them wired up

which LOC are you using? and do you have it tapped in before or after the bose amp? where do you have your levels set? are you sure all the wires are right.. because if one speaker is backwards the subs will cancel eachother out

you should also make sure that your subs are sealed in the box pretty good - if you have a leaky box, you will lose A LOT of bass.

basically if you really want our help you need to be a lot more specific.

Disconnect one of the two subs and see if you magically have more bass response.

Wikked is correct. Using two different model subs together is a no-no. And it sounds like you wired them out of phase.... just as wikked has mentioned. If disconnecting one of the subs doesn't do anything for you, maybe adjust your LOC? You didn't mention which one you had.....

I have a similar problem....pretty sure it is the LOC

1-600watt amp
1-12" power acoustic 1000w max sub
PAC LOC

It isnt as loud or clean of bass as it should be.

what can be done?

Are the subs hooked parallel or series? Series would have a couple of issues, due to the unmatched response of the 2 subs as well as probably very high impedance not matching well to your amp.
Can you see the woofer travel? Does it look like it's moving a fair amount, or just barely vibrating. If they're moving a lot, then the subs are probably out of phase, reverse one of the wires, Also if this is the case, with the trunk open and the subs facing you, as you moved around the subs you'd probably notice volume differences based on your position.
I like Wikked's suggestions.
Also, 8ga is not enough for 1000W. At full power you'll lose about a volt over the wiring and it would actually feel warm. I'd think 4ga a better bare minimum.

Going to need some more info, mainly:

1. What type of box do you have (Sealed/ported/etc.) and what is the volume?
2. What amp exactly? Model number would be great.
3. What sub exactly? Model number would be great.
4. What gauge wire are you using to power the amp?

Sealed with adequate volume....I checked this

Amp Coustic 601 SE.....this is compatable with my sub...I checked the ohms and they match

I am using 4 guage wire to power the setup.

In my previous car I had the same amp power 3 10" L's and it was way to loud so I never turned my amp up halfway.

Now I have it cranked up and it's just not doin it for me.....

I turned the LOC all the way up and it seems like I am getting a weak signal or something. This is the first time I have ever had to deal with a LOC....since you cant replace headunits on the 8 unless you want to drop some serious dough.

Solution, remove POS LOC and replace with Audio Control 6XS wired properly. Then address the sub box. Then if you have two subs, make sure they are wired in phase.

Where is the cheapest place to pick one of these up?

Is this a decent LOC? Looking for some help here.
