sub/amp/LOC installed + incorrect wiring info posted for rear leads

Well I finally got my sub/amp/loc installed (shouldnt say finally Ive only had the car 2 weeks heeh)

Starting at the front, 4 gauge street wire kit.....ended up using about 14 feet when all said and done...not to bad, kept the fuse fairly close to the batt.

Moving down the line, I added in a turn-on/off switch for the amp, so this way if I valet or take it in for service I can flip the switch and no one will know theres a sub there to crank and play with. Im fussy about people touching my car.....like most :)

I was gonna do do some crazy install with flush amp/sub and so on like I usuall do, but then I decided to do simple, shorter cable runs, and easy disconnect if I ever want to take it out....decide to go small, and keep my space.... amp on box and actually...I got tons of usable trunk space so Im actually happy with the turnout.

Using a Directed 600D at 2ohm for now at 400x1 RMS (capable of 1ohm load so if i want I can get another sub, parallel and get the max output...but im happy with 1 sub!)

Finally as you can see, built a SMALL .70cf enclosure that tucks away perfectly and is flush with the lowest part of the trunk. This is the NEW MTX 7500 and to be honest I am totally impressed.....I was gonna get an L7 but glad I got this, it totally outperforms the kicker in numbers if you do the math (still a fan just went MTX). I did the math and with the sD and max excursion (.65 damn good) this actually has more overall output the the L7. they recommeded .75 but Im driving it harder then recommended RMS and I like TIGHT accurate bass.

NOW FOR THE LINE OUT CONVERTER AND MY PERSONAL FINDING !!IMPORTANT!! (JUST MY 2 CENTS)

Alot of people are saying they get NO sub/vol till they are around 18 on the radio. Well I get steady equal perfect volume from literially 1-max. I am using the dave navone 2 channel LOC, the N-7V. best LOC ive used, period, this is partly why I think the level going to my amp is strong, its a great piece. Its under 1/3 up, (which is nothing) the gain on the amp is well under 1/3.....I cranked it all day the amp never even got hot. I think I got some more room to play, for now ill break it in and do some more adjusting later. This LOC as much as I hated to have to use LOCs......impressed me. Dave Navone makes good quality stuff, nothing more to say! :)

ALSO THE WIRING, THE REAR LEADS THAT SOME POSTED ARE INCORRECT

Some people also said that they used the david navone LOC and the LOC was mislabeled. Well the problem is, the posted wiring for the rear leads is INCORRECTLY posted!! The LOC wasnt incorrectly labeled, the wiring diagram posted in the forum is wrong and thats why people got the accurate results when they switched the wiring, it wasnt out of phase, the posted polarity was outta phase :)

I tested this so many times over and over and OVER ...these are my findings.....not busting chops but my wiring worked perfectly....I picked up my connection right after the amp to the rear speakers, good strong voltage there I noticed. Below are the posted wiring findings I got, this is my personal opinion on whats correct for the rear leads:

left rear + purple
left rear - pink
right rear + white/blue
right rear - black/blue

the part incorrected posted was the right + and -

hope Ive helped someone.......

My 1 10 MTX 7500 sounds sick for what it is.....it rivals my old 12L7.....the new MTX sub impressed me....its got awesome excursion, .65 and its overal vmax is better then a comparable L7 solo. what a great sub.

Overall for a person who would never settle for less then all aftermarket im pretty impressed with the imagery and overall sq with just adding this sub. Its not like some systems ive had previously......but Im totally happy.....maybe im just growing up :)

Advice

Where did you go through the firewall and to trunk with power wire?

That issue was addressed here a long time ago.

Go through the rubber grommet on the drivers side footwell. you have to punch out some space, but there is more than enough room to do it. Plus, you don't have to drill a hole in your firewall. Horray!!!
