stereo issues
 

My family has had my 8 for the last year due to me being deployed. The stereo stopped working they don't know if it was before or after they fixed the dirty battery connections. The info bar says time and the stereo will take a CD and say that its playing but there us no sound and only the knobs work no center console burrons work. Tried using steering controls and it beeps but volume just stays at zero.

Things i have done. Removed stereo and double checked connections they are all good. Read about the face plate connections while doing that I got the stereo to come on for about 15 seconds but now I can't seem to get it back on. Is there a certain way the face plate hooks up? It has worked recently but like I said won't work now.

OK suming up. Center console lights work. The info display will display the clock and say it has a CD in. After playing with the face plate i got it saying the climate info as well but without touching the stereo it stopped working. The buttons don't work only the knobs and eject CD work. I'm going insane with this. Any help would be great.

have you checked the fuses? it's possible there is an amp fuse that is separate from the radio itself

If you can play with the faceplate connections and get it to work, then it sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere. Maybe a cracked solder joint or something? Think I remember some folks having solder issues on the HVAC control board. Maybe search for that on here.
