Spider Wedge LEDs
 

I just want to make sure these will fill fit and work as replcament tail light bulbs for my RX-8. Will they work? If so I going to order them.

I have seen other users' lights with similar LEDs in them, but can't find the posts, and I don't know for sure that it was the same brand. However, on the link that you posted, it says the lights fold up to fit through a 1" hole, you you could check out the size of hole for the bulb on your own taillights. There should be plenty of room for the opened LEDs once you get it through that hole.

I'm not 100% sure here, but my guess is you'd be fine.

please post back results... i've considered getting these a number of times and have yet to follow thru.

I find the shape of these to suit the circular brake lights of our tails the best. A nice uniformed light distribution with obvious signs of them being LED's (which in most cases is aesthetically beneficial). Unfortunately, these are very old style SMD with low light output in comparison to what can be bought today. Admittedly I've been wanting these (with five arms) as well but decided not to due to low light output.

When you do get to try it out, post pics.

They are on order and I will post pics as soon as I get them installed.

Here are the pics and they work really well. I just wish I could figure out how to turn them a bit so they could be more like a triangle. I played with it for awhile but could not figure out how to do it. Anyways they are super bright!

I plan on getting the turn signal and backup lights as well here soon.

I wonder how those spider LED bulbs will fit into the turn signal and backup light locations.
And on the daylight photos, they don't look "super bright"... certainly not as bright as the filament bulbs, not even close. The shots were not taken in bright sunlight either which is usually the biggest downfall of LED bulbs' visibility. But it may be just the photos, I dunno.

Maybe you have to see it in person. The look brighter than the normal bulbs and when you apply the brake they are WAY brighter. I will try to get some better pics.

As for the turn signal bulbs I am going to get these.

I can almost guarantee you that those turn signal LED bulbs won't be bright enough (or even visible) in sunlight. They are not even SMT which tend to be the brighter than those wedge LEDs.
I'm currently using CREE+SMT LED combination bulbs as turn signals, precisely because light output of other, only SMT bulbs was not sufficient. They are OK, pretty much the same like the filament bulbs. The light pattern however seems to be better with the conventional bulbs (i.e. they fill the reflectors better).

If you take new photos of the spider bulbs, do it in bright sunlight to show how much are they visible. The best test would be to do this with one side LED, other with traditional bulb. That's the ultimate test for any LED bulb :)

I wish you would posted before I bought them. Oh well! Do you have pics of yours and links to where you got them.

I check them in sunlight yesterday and they can be seen. I need to put in the old bulb on one side and test but I am lazy right now. I will do it sometimes soon. I do know they look really good at night.

Can you take a picture with comparison to the incandescent bulbs not using flash?

I am pretty happy with the result so I am going to keep them for now. I will test them against the old bulbs when I have some free time.

Looks quite dim in those pictures. The original incandescent bulbs are always brighter than the third brake light, and those LED's are significantly dimmer than the third brake light.
