Simple questions for someone with navigation

I'm in the process of recreating the navigation stock motor controller through use of a microcontroller for my CarPC application. I want to make the project act exactly like stock and had some quick questions about the OEM nav system:

1. If you hold the tilt button, does it cycle through the tilt positions? Or is it like (I assume) the open button, where you have to release it and press it again to toggle?
2. In taking my own data, there are three tilt positions, not including full-open. If you press tilt from the last position, does the monitor go back to full-open or does it close? (IIRC it opens, but now I'm questioning myself)
3. If you are in a tilt position (let's say you pressed tilt twice) and then pressed the open button, I believe it closes the screen. If you then press the open button again, does the screen return to position 2 or open all the way?
4. Lastly, does the backlight on the screen dim with the interior dimmer? I know the Open/Tilt buttons do, but what about the screen itself?

I think this is all of the info I'll need to finish my controller, oh, and an aftermarket screen! Thanks..

1) You have to release and hit again.
2) It goes back to full open.
3)When opened again it goes back to the last position open. so it goes back to the tilted position.
4)If your headlights are on when you change from full bright past the click the screen goes to night settings. however as soon as you turn your lights off it goes back to day settings (ie background white day or black for night)

your welcome
