Showing off my sound
3 Attachment(s)
Hey all! Just got done with my sound system installation yesterday & wanted to show it off a bit, and see what you think. The trunk was built with a custom box, then fiberglassed and covered with a carbon fiber vinyl fabric (very cool looking). Sounds nice & clear & incredibly loud when wanted. I still have to clean it up & do a few more things I have in mind, but here is what is in it now:
Volfenhag ZX-4812 12" sub HiFonics Zeus Zxi 6000 Amp (for speakers) HiFonics Brutus Bxi 1206D Amp (for sub) Pioneer TS-6881 6x8's (replacing Mid-bass) Pioneer TS-6991 6x9's AudioControl LC6 LOC Volfenhag 1.2 Farad Cap. Little bit of blue neon LED's Optima D35 Yellow Top Battery |
Nice! You beat me to the punch w/ the CF Vinyl. Looks really good on the deck lid.
Thanks. Yeah, the CF material is nicer than I expected. The deck lid looks very clean, but might do a little something extra on it, to make it stick out a bit more.
that system looks SWEET! kudos to you man.
Yeah, it actually hits VERY hard. The 4812's are a lot better than the 4712's (ones you see on ebay a lot). On the stock HU I had the volume up to 30 for a second, but to even get it up to 20 I am a bit afraid it will shake the rear view mirror off. That is with the bass remote set about 1/3 the way up. Quite a beast.
Thats the one. Inexpensive, matches my Velocity red pretty well & sounds very good. I would recommend it if you need one. I think it wanted at least 1.5cf of air space.
damnnnnn, thats hot. nice install man

damn i like...definitley fellin the hifonics amps, cheap and loads of power. getting ready to install my stuff as soon as i get ahold of that new corksport kit. still not postitive i want to mount the sub facing up. your install looks very clean. kudos
Yeah, the old carpet was removed, but once you get the lid off the trunk, it isn't a difficult task really. I have never really liked mounting the subs in the other direction. I prefer to not look at the magnet & the trunk area is so small, it is not like there is an air space benefit by mounting it one way vs. another. The bass doesn't seem as deep the other way when I was playing with it either.
how much was all that?
If you include the battery and the wiring kit, about $1100.
damn, looks really nice. where are you located?
Lansing, MI. Haven't changed my profile info yet. Should probably do that though :)
dang, beat me to the CF vinyl punch to, I have some 15 yards of black and yellow and we're fixing to go nuts on my interior with it, nice install mang ;)
Yeah, the CF is cool. I am going to put some into my interior as well. Probably do the headliner & entire "light gray" area on the top inside of the car. Why it is so different from the rest of the car is beyond me.
lol no kidding, headliner is a mystery to me as well
Yeah, I was told that it is supposed to make the car look more "roomy". I realize the car is technically 4 door, but I am not sure anyone is really fooled into thinking it is "roomy". Anyway, time to change it to black like the rest of the car. Liking the idea of making a CF black or gray boot as well.
