Shift Knobs
I'm planning to do a bit of interior work in my car in the middle of January. I ordered a new bride shift boot, short throw shifter from axialflow, planning to re-do my silver trim pieces with 3m di-noc, and now just want to top it all off with a shift knob. I'm just wondering what knobs you guys are all using. I want something either carbon fiber or polished black. So far I've found...
black pearl. very expensive though. don't want to pay that much http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html http://www.amazon.com/Sparco-03740CL...3724064&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-2032-C...724094&sr=8-42 Is there anything I should look for or stay away from? I would like a ball shape like the black pearl one but at a lower price. |
I would go with the black peral shift knob. It looks 20x better than the other 2 options. Its metal so it will get hot, but the other 2 look cheap with the carbon fiber print. Unless it is real carbon fiber I feel it is just dumb to buy it. If you don't want metal look for a poly material. Most quality shift knobs are gonna run you around 100 though.

/thread I went this route in the polished black. $50 shipped beats $169 + shipping any day for a shift knob. Thanks for the help. |

Wow, this thread just helped me too. Sweet!

Voo Doo w/ pearl finish. Matches the trim on the either side of the center console perfectly.

+1 Thats what I got with the pearl finish. Has a nice feel and looks great!

This is where I get mine made, in case you want to go custom. Mine are custom counter-weighted, and being non metallic, they stay cool in the sun etc.... |

I ended up purchasing a black polished voodoo and love it. Combined with the axial flow, the car is completely different when shifting. I'll post a picture later today with my phone.
