Seat Swap Questions

I am planning to do swap for my cloth seats non-automatic to leather automatic. How does this work? Can someone give me insight on how install is going to be and what should I expect?

Disconnect the battery, remove your old seat and put the new one in. Just remember to connect the harness that powers it.

Why do you want to gain a crazy amount of weight though?

Because power leather seats. Lol

No need to. Just follow the workshop manual you can easily find online.

Having JUST done this on a customer's car, I can tell you that it is a real easy swap. There are four fasteners that hold each seat in place. You will also have a couple wiring harness connnectors to disconnect and reconnect. Then, you will notice that, underneath the center console cover, there are two unused connectors for the seat heaters (one is black and one is white). You will need to obtain a center console cover and two seat heater switches and the switches will need to connect to the previously unused harness connectors.

Rather simple swap, really, just take your time with it.

Hey Charles,

We did the swap and the power seat is not working. Is this a fuse problem? Please help we were a bit confused.

Yes the seat worked in his car before we moved it into mine. That's why we were confused. Maybe missing a fuse... Any thoughts to how this can be?

I'm in Frisco right now and will be back in Vegas tonight. I wonder if I should take it to Mazda dealer in Vegas??

One person said they were missing the fuses, another said they had to run their own wires for seat heaters and power.
