Satellite radio for Canadians

Sat radio is not yet officially here in Canada.
Can anyone tell me if when you activate either Sirrus or XM online, do you require a US address or do they simply want a valid credit card?
Sat TV from Dishnetwork or Directv can be viewed in Canada as long as you have a US billing address. If we want tv we have to set up a fake addy to receive service.
I cant try the online activation as I do not have a sat readio yet. I dont want to buy one if I can't activate it.

Thank you

Not one single Canadian RX8 owner has satellite radio?

I know this post is really old, but since no one else replied....

I have a Sirius radio and I had no problem activating it. A friend of mine had some trouble getting it across the border but I've brought two across with no questions asked (my first was stolen). I'm in New Brunswick BTW. Signal strength has been great throughout Atlantic Canada and Quebec.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually the 800 number works in Canada.
I asked the woman on the line if I had to give an address. She then laughed and asked if I was Canadian.
I said yes. She told me that US law prevents Sirrus from having Canadian addressses on their customer list.
She said that as long as my address was an american address all would be fine. She also added that addresses were not verified.
Nothing wrong with an american subscribing to sirrus and paying with a credit card issued by a canadian institution. (wink wink nudge nudge!)
