Factory nav troubleshooting
Hey guys, I've got a 2006 GT with nav, The screen powers on (verified this at night.) but thats the only thing that happens. No video input to the screen whatsoever, no error messages, nothing. Open button and tilt button function.
If i hold the voice button down, I get a menu that shows up that is in Japanese that lets me adjust brightness settings, but thats it. No Mazda logo, no gps loading, nothing.
I have a dvd in there, but the dvd has damage to it. Could it be the dvd? I figured if the dvd was bad I would get an on screen error message. Can anyone provide some help?

Looked in the FSM and couldn't find anything pertinent. Someone has to have had this happen before...Any advice...Please? I know the factory nav isn't the best but I've got a specific reason behind wanting it functional.
Would it normally show a disc read error if no disc was present or the disc was bad? Mine behaves the exact same way regardless of if there is a disc in there or not. Hood opens/closes with the button, tilt function works properly. if i hold the voice button I get a menu on the screen in Japanese that lets me adjust brightness, so I know the screen is working...
No mazda logo, no disc error, nothing. Disc in or out. Can someone with nav take their disc out and verify for me if it will give a disc error? like maybe key on, take disc out, close hood, key off, key on, open nav hood, see what happens?

Video for anyone who might decide to chime in. It does this with or without a nav disc in. No disc read error with disc in or out, nothing. Can someone help?
if I hold down the voice button, I get the menu seen in the video. otherwise nothing else...
Anyone?
