RX8 Head Unit Issues
 

My head unit went out a few weeks ago and I decided to get a used radio from ebay. I hooked the new one up and I am getting no power at all. I plugged in my old one and I still get power from it so i know its not the fuse. I know these radios have theft locks on them but i wasn't sure if the unit would still turn on. My old radio had cracked plastic and the cd player quit working and i just decided to replace everything. If anyone has had any experience with this please give me some advice. Thanks.

Well...you could have been ripped off by an eBayer with a bad head unit. I have never read anywhere hear about the radio not turning on after going to a new car...but that doesn't mean much. The units do come apart pretty easy once they are out of the car so I would try swapping the CD Player and face plate and see if you can just get away with that.

I will try that as well. I am not sure if there are theft codes on these rx8 head units but it would be nice to know. I couldn't find anytihng in the manual. I know i can get it working but it would be nice if i could leave it alone without tearing things apart.
