Replacing the stock woofers and tweeters (Sport package)

I have these components with cross over: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-TS-D720C.html

My question is, will they fit? 6-3/4" woofer and and 1-1/8" tweeters. They come with a physical cross over but where can I tap the signal so that the HU goes to the cross over and the cross over goes to the tweet and woofer (there is a cross over for each side L/R that takes care of the woofer and tweeter crossover).

I've searched but found mostly information pertaining to the BOSE setup.

I know how this stuff works but have limited experience with installs. Is this a reasonable DIY? Maybe I can use the components without crossover if the signal to the speakers is already filtered.

Thanks.

It will fit no problem. Here is my thread when I did pretty much the same thing:

You will need to trim the door plastic to accomodate the new speaker and have to fabricate an adapter plate.
You just lead the signal cable into the crossover and from there you can feed the woofer and the tweeter with their own cables.

Thanks for the link.

Where do the separate tweeter and woofer speaker leads come from? It sounds like you tapped the full range woofer signal and split that to woofer and tweeter via the crossover. But what about the wire that went to the old tweeters - do you leave that dangling heh?

If I remember correctly, the old tweeter wires were just lead parallel fron the woofer, with a capacitor or something like that to cut the low frequencies.
I simply removed those wires and used the lead from the crossover to the new tweeters.
