Is it possible to remove the rear armrest lid without disassembling the center console? I did not see an obvious way (i.e. screws etc.).
The front one is simple because it can be slid off, but for the rear, it seems I'd need to remove a bunch of other stuff first in order to get at the screws or something that holds it in place. Is that correct?
What is the minimum I need to remove?

Never done it, but the factory service manual should be helpful for this question.

Thanks for the reply... yeah, I already looked in the manual, but it doesn't help much, at least it does not indicate what exactly holds the cover in place. Why, it does not even mention that the front lid can be simply slid off without disassembling anything

Looks like I won't be able to avoid taking apart the whole console... fun...

the console is i think 7 screws unscrewing the shift ****. and pulling up on the plastic surrounding the shift ****. it can be done in less than 5 min.

how hard is that?

You can't remove the entire lid because it's connected to a hinge that I don't believe you can disconnect without damage. However, you can remove the lid's top piece without having to take the whole console out. It's connected with some hooked tabs, no screws. Just take the pass through panel out, open the lid, place the base of both hands on the middle top of the lid and apply some downward pressure, and use your fingers to pry up the edge. Should pop right out. Did this to install a leather lid cover.

I'm asking about the rear console lid, not the front. If I'd have to start removing the center tunnel trim pieces in order to get to the rear ones, that's way more than what you are talking about.
