removing back seats for system

i was thinking about taking out my back seats for a wall of subs and amps, anyone seen this done for the rx8 yet?

Yup, by Team Hybrid sponsored by Crossfire.4-12inch subs downfire at where the back seats are.

have any pics of it?

the only possible downfall of such a set up would be that bass waves sound best when traveling over a longer distance, like from your trunk...but maybe more power and an extra sub can take care of that! ;)

I'm in a good mood so here you go. :D

they have the subs on the floor, i was thinking more of having the subs on a wall seperating the cabin from the trunk, where the backs of the back seats are.

anyone seen this done with the 8? anyone think it would be a good/bad idea?

they have two subs pointed toward the floorpan and two pointed into the trunk space...

Don't yell at me, you just asked for pics... :p

:)

Personally I don't know why you'd do that. Those things are freaking huge. Turning the stock volume up to 22 hurts my ears, and I don't have Bose.

labop, i wansnt yelling at you sorry for any misinterpretation...thank you for the pics though

i would want to do it like that for the look, but i would want the system in the car for the sound...i love a good loud clean sounding system.

the reason 22 on the stock system hurts your ears is bc it distorts which is causing your ears to hurt. a system with more power you can play at that same db level with comfort...

Labop 03-10-2005 09:49 AM

I know you weren't yelling, just playing :)

I don't think it's the distortion that hurts, just the volume. So I only turn it up to 16 or so. Even then I'll have to turn it down occasionaly, like when I burn a CD and the gain was too high on a particular MP3. Or is that still distortion? Never really thought clarity/lack of clarity could cause pain, just dB. ??

jwbond 03-10-2005 10:02 AM

high dbs for extended period of time can hurt your ears...however a less volume with less clarity can do it even easier...

do your ears a favor and upgrade your stereo...the stock stereo at 22 volume isnt all that loud...it's the distortion that hurts not the volume in that case.

mp3s are a compressed format of the cd quality...therefore there is some loss of sound and distortion is more apparent. however, burnt mp3s on a top notch stereo wont hurt your ears even at louder volumes. if you like your music loud, save your ears and buy a more powerful system (it will distort less, as long as you don't blast it beyond its capabilities.)
