Audiovox Prestige is a solid brand. Also Viper, if you want to pay more.

I assume you have an auto? I would not install it on a manual car.

FWIW I had an auto start installed on my wife's MDX and the install is a very involved process. I forgot the brand I purchased but it integrated with the factory alarm. Meaning in addition to auto start and auto stop, the new key fob controls locking and unlocking the doors and arming and disarming the alarm.

I have a hornet remote start on a manual and still have the factory alarm. You are not required to get the full alarm system with it. I love it. Really short range it seems, but well worth the money. I had a professional install on it.

If you are after a good and I mean reliable and properly installed remote start / alarm, look no further than the Compustar Pro2wfmas. It is built from the ground up for a manual transmission vehicle, with a modification (cutting a wire loop) it then works on a automatic transmission vehicle. www.compustar.org for more info.

Why wouldnt you want to install it in a mt? just make a habit of leaving it in neutral and you can wire up an overide for the clutch. In europe none of the mt's require you to press the clutch to start they simply wont start in gear, a smarter dummy switch!
