Remote-on
Alrighty, I dove in and got the basslink sub. So far I've hooked everything up and it should be working fine, BUT it doesn't actually turn on.
I've got the power hooked up and I followed the wiring diagram from another thread. Problem is when I turn on the car it turns on for a split second and goes off, I've tried different gauges of wire for the remote-turn on, and I've tried several locations. (Pink/black wire, 2cd lighter socket, different fuses) By the way I have the BOSE audio. |
I got Bose too. First of all check the Basslink and make sure the auto turn-on switch is set to off. There are 3 main wires you need for power: pos(+) which I wired to the battery, neg(-) which is wired to a chassis bolt in the trunk, and the remote turn-on wire which is just plug into one of the fuses by the driver-side fuse box (I used the 2nd from the top which is the acc fuse 7.5amp). Hope this helps.

Yea all wires are connected correctly I believe. Power to bat., Neg to chassis bolt, both 8 gauge wire. Right now I'm at 12 guage wire for remote turn-on.
Thing is that it turns on for a split second and then shuts off. |
I believed mine is a 16gauge wire. Don't forget to turn off Basslink auto-turn on switch...

may not always be the remote wire
if you are sure that you have a constant power source for remote. maybe the amp or protection maybe occuring with the amp.one of the other wires maybe have a be touching something. but easiest would be to make sure you have a good remote and the rear cigarette socket is a good source for a remote wire. |
check and make sure that none of the speaker wires are grounded. This would cause the amps protection circuit to turn the amp off.

Thx guys, I was actually thinking about it after I made that post and ended up fixing it in the morning.
It seems that inadequate grouding was what was causing this, I relocated to another groud and everything is working perfectly. Thank for the help though. :) |
