rear bose amp blown What to do?

First off 2004 Bose stereo.

My Bose amp blew today. No fronts or rears. Stock Bose H/U is fine Just no sound to any of the speakers.
I had an old 2 channel alpine amp sitting in my garage. So I tied the alpine amp into the rear input wires BEFORE the bose amp. Then disconnected the the bose amp wires to the rear 6x9's. So now I am running my rear 6x9's off the alpine amp. (temp. fix so I have some audio).

Anyways I don't know weather I should replace stock bose amp, or just by a 4 Channel aftermarket amp and bypass the Bose completely.

I do NOT want to get read of the stock H/U. Any suggestions?

FYI I do not listen to music very often. Usually have it on a "hockey Talk" radio station.

And also Where can I get a fairly inexpensive Bose amp? I can not seem to find one for under $100 US plus shipping.:icon_tdow

Have you tried your local wrecking yards?

I wish we had a "hockey talk" station. :(

Ya there are no wrecked rx-8 in my area. My brother lives in Calgary, I may just send him to pick a part if they have one!

Keep an eye on ebay also. There's one on there right now for like $80 USD.

back to square 1

Decided to scrap the Bose system and start fresh. I am still going to use the Stock Bose H/U. At least for now.

So I installed a Kenwood KAC-8405. This is powering a set of Infinity Ref. 3 ways 6x9's in the back. and for the front I have a set of Kenwood KFC-P709ps that will replace the 9 inch mid in the door.

At this point I have the 6x9's in and the amp wired for the rear. Just with the 3 way 6x9's the system already sounds better that the Bose. (my opinion).

I have my Bose H/U Directly feeding the Kenwood amp via the amps Line level inputs. Then the Kenwood feeds the NEW speakers. The only thing Bose that is still hooked up is the H/U. No speakers, no bose amps.

So my question is , even though the system is working very well so far, will this be an issue for the H/U in the long run?

I have read a TON of post but am still a little concerned with blowing the H/U.
I really do not want to replace the stock H/U.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
