Radio and AC console problem
 

For some reason for the past 2 weeks I have been having intermittent problems with my radio head unit. Sometimes the climate control will not display in the LCD, and sometimes it will. When it does not display, none of the buttons on my radio or climate control work. When the climate control does display some of the buttons work, but in a delayed and essentially unusable fashion. From the steering wheel I can control the radio normally 95% of the time I have this problem.

Lastly, there are times when the problem just disappears for a few days. I busted a radio button a few months back and removed the head unit to fix it, but haven't had a problem up until recently. Could a wire or something have worked its way loose since then? I wanted to get some input to see if I could self repair before confronting the dealer with the still partially broken button and having them blame the problem on me.

Interesting problem, defiantly sounds like something is loose... i think i remember hearing about a problem where the face would essentialy detach itself from the actual HU, although i think that happened after the HU was removed and replaced and we blamed it on whatever unit was being installed (like the AUXmod or something) do some searching around about that and see if that is it.

if you don't want to mess with it, you can just take it up to the mazda dealership, hopefully they will fix it for free, they did when my AC controls were messed up.
