Quick CD/Mini Disc Question...
 

Hey everyone, I am going to get a mini disc player pretty soon, and I am curious if it reads out text (song titles) on the display. I know that the small nob on the right side of the stock stereo says text.

If not, what does show text on the stock screen? One last question, does the Mini disc play in LP4 mode without crappy sound? :confused:

interesting I have never read anything about the Mini disc player on the forum...I'm thinking it will display song titles though

I'm curious as well since I considered getting the MD player when I first got the 8.....

Well, if the MP3 player shows text, then the minidisc has a higher chance of also showing text.

I have the MD player. It can display the song title and disc title text (hitting the DISP button cycles between them). Though you have to manually scroll the display for long names, which sucks IMO.

The MiniDisc DOES play LP2 & LP4 fine. As for the text display I will have to check, as I do not add any text to the Disc's I have made. I will assume that if YOU add text to the tracks it will show up. Otherwise all you see on the display is track 1,2,3 etc. Before I installed the Sirius unit what I used to do is make 5 hour Disc’s from my Dish Network system of commercial free music. You can’t add track titles doing it that way. The Disc’s I have that were made directly copied from CD’s do not show track info.

I knew it had to show the song! My mazda dealer couldn't even tell me.

I think the LP2 and LP4 sound pretty good in the RX-8, and I just have the stock Bose system.

I got mine from Trussville Mazda. No problems and the shipping time was quick.
