Question on DIY wiring a power inverter to your fuse box?

I'm planning on wiring a power inverter directly to my fusebox and running it to my trunk. Does anybody have any suggestions on which type of inverter to use? I haven't looked to see if there are any empty spaces in the fuse box but I used to have fog lights on my 8 and I took them out because of my new body kit so if they used there on fuse it's spot is empty. What fuse size should I use? Any suggestions on what kind of wire to use to extend the inverter to the fuse box. Thanks guys for your help.

What size power inverter are you planning on using? (i.e. How many watts?)
That will determine what the wire size needs to be.

I think my local audio shop said 1000 volts or watts can't remember.

In that case, your inverter would be drawing something like 80 to 100 amps at full load, and you'd need wires the size of welding cables tied directly to the battery. The factory fuse block isn't big enough to hancle that kind of current.

what in the hell are you going to run with that?! a freaking kitchen appliance?

Look on the manufacturer label on the underside of the Xbox. It should give you it's power requirements. I know there is no way in hell it's 1000W...

For sure, XeRo!

Horse, get an inverter that is rated at about 1.5 x the power draw of the xbox. By the way, check out what the power supply of the xbox puts out (it should be on it); if it's 12 volts you can just wire up a power lead from your fusebox to the xbox directly and leave the power supply at home!
