Proper Battery Ah

Hey,

Recently i had a problem with bad battery, and i had to replace it.
I used to have the "from factory one" which was 75D26L and as i know was 60-65Ah

I called to mazda and they told me that they are using the Leopard 80D29L now.

I am not sure how many Amper/Hour this is but, i replaced mine with a Banner 80Ah.

Will it harm my car?

Please advice. I have to admit it starts from the first crank. :):):)

Amp/hours is just how long the battery will last.

ok.. replace it with 80Amper.

Will it harm my car?

No. In fact, it will be better. Manufacturers always put in the smallest battery they can get away with. There is usually room on the battery tray for a bigger one. Whenever I have an OE battery die I replace it with at least the next size up.

yes ok, i agree, but,,,, isnt there a limit like... minimum 60Amper maximum 100Amper for example?

No real limit based on amp hour capacity. Some people will put pretty small specialized batteries in to save weight...I think down to the 20 AH range. Leaves them with no margin if they have trouble starting the engine, but those folks tend to be performance oriented and everything is a tradeoff.

On the top end, the limit is really just the physical space in the battery compartment. If you live someplace with harsh winters, it's usually a good idea to put in the biggest battery that fits.
