problem with the display

i noticed after a little while that the display that shows the temperature, the AC selection and the vent selection is frozen. when i reset my battery it will work for a while then freeze again, and the lights on my AC and Air venting unit also freeze but i can still change the features.

when i bought the car i DID NOT come with the original stereo i think that might be the problem but i wouldnt see why it would be.

any Help would be awesome thanks.

the reason it would be the problem is coz that display is interfaced through the stock radio and the aftermarkets use some sort of software hardware combo to make it work or an adapter i have the metra kit and theyre interface is awesome so far no problem but to answer your question the display is connected the the stock radio

ya the guy i bought the car from was a sketchy faggot who didn't give me the gps disc or the tools to remove that aftermarket stereo i wanna replace it and put the stock one in because i found one for sale on craigslist.

could it maybe be a sensor problem?

nah dude i dont recall there being a sensor in the wiring system its just direct wires. but if you wanna open it and check it out its not that difficult search the diy section and you can probably find out whats wrong. maybe a short somewhere or 2 wires interchanging but def no sensors. if you wanna switch to stock you can do that pretty easy

Information display problems...

Just had my info display replaced by the local dealership (extended warranty) for the heat related freezing/scrambled output.

Two weeks later, I start the car after non-op for a week and it's doing it again.

Stock head unit (single disk).

My question: has anyone determined whether the problem is the actual LED display, the head unit, or some other component under the dash??

Thanks in advance!!
